Because many low income families struggle to cover extra expenses, TEAM offers several special assistance programs.
Food For College Students
TEAM has partnered with Lone Star College - Tomball in the Food For Students program, which provides low income college students with healthy food on a regular basis. Students can receive food once every three weeks, and TEAM has streamlined the process for students so there's no waiting in line. If you are an LSC student in need of food support, please email Magdalena Mendoza to set up an initial screening and referral for the program. Qualified applicants should reside within Tomball zip codes or Tomball ISD boundaries.
"Good Eats" Summer Food Program For Kids
TEAM has partnered with Harris County Community Youth Services and Tomball ISD Title 1 schools to provide children, who normally receive free/reduced-price breakfast and lunches, with healthy food and snacks during their summer break from school. The Good Eats summer food program is designed to keep kids healthy and ready to learn when they return to school in the fall. Qualifying families can receive food once every three weeks from June – August. You can learn more here.
Back To School Jacket Giveaway
As school begins in the fall, eligible families can receive coats for their children. Please contact TEAM during the month of August for more information.
Thanksgiving Holiday Baskets
Our popular Thanksgiving meal program provides families with a turkey or chicken, plus all of the side dish ingredients necessary to make a complete Thanksgiving meal. Sign up begins each year in mid-October and end two weeks before Thanksgiving.
Christmas Meal & Gift Program
At Christmas TEAM provides all of the ingredients for a holiday meal - from the meat to the side dishes. Families can complete a wish list to receive new, age-appropriate toys for their children. Interviews for clients seeking Christmas assistance begin in early November and end the first week of December.
