On the evening of Friday, March 22, TEAM held its annual fundraiser and dinner. This year, our program included Bruce Hillegeist, President of the Tomball Chamber of Commerce as our Master of Ceremonies, and Jim McIngvale, a.k.a. “Mattress Mack,” as our keynote speaker. We are so thankful to both of these gentlemen for their service to TEAM on Friday and for their words of support and encouragement for our efforts to serve the Tomball community. We maxed out our capacity of 300 and between tickets, sponsors, evening activities, and donations, TEAM raised almost $82,000.
This event was a year in the making. Our Fundraiser Committee, chaired by Lynn Creps, began planning for this event in the spring of 2018, shortly after our first fundraiser concluded. The committee spent countless hours meeting, planning, shopping, communicating, and everything necessary to put on a successful event. The result? Outstanding! TEAM’s fundraiser and dinner was full, fun, and God-honoring.
I must thank Karen Guiles for her tireless efforts visiting local businesses in the pursuit of sponsors for this event. In the end, we had close to $25,000 in sponsorships. Of course, we have a great appreciation for the local businesses that showed their support of TEAM through sponsorship, and for those that provided in-kind donations such as gift cards for our event activities and door prizes.
A thank you goes out to Pastor Lawrence Young, who provided our invocation and singing, to Christian Restrepo, the talented keyboardist, and to Chef Michael for his delicious cuisine. Our thanks are also extended to our wonderful guests who helped to make this event so enjoyable and who generously showed their love for TEAM.
Our exhausted Fundraising Committee may not want to hear this, but… I’m looking forward to next year!
